ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Mark Nelson, P.E. is a petroleum engineer with nearly four decades of experience across the oil and gas industry. He began his career with five years in oilfield wireline services, supporting offshore and international operations. Mark then spent 28 years with Transcontinental Gas Pipeline and Williams, where he specialized in environmental remediation and the management of environmental challenges associated with natural gas infrastructure. For the past five years, he has served with Process Mercury Group as a subject matter expert in natural gas pipelines, mercury management, and PCB-related issues. His extensive technical and operational experience provides a unique perspective on mercury risks, monitoring, and mitigation throughout the natural gas value chain.
COMPANY DESCRIPTION
Process Mercury Group is a mercury management consulting and field services firm specializing in all things mercury, including:
- Assessment of mercury in hydrocarbons, including a patented system that is considered the “gold standard” for mercury in natural gas
- Facility performance monitoring
- Health & Safety: Occupational Exposure monitoring
- Environment: Waste Management & Minimization
- Assessment and decommissioning of mercury-impacted upstream, midstream, and downstream oil and gas infrastructure
