AGENDA

Modern gas processing is firmly rooted in the concepts of natural gas phase behavior and equilibrium stage separations. This third “Extended Overview Series” module explores these concepts in an understandable way that even non-engineers can appreciate. The majority of the class will cover applications of these concepts to:

Refrigeration – The heart of virtually all modern gas plant designs

Mechanical Refrigeration Units (MRU) – Applying refrigeration principles to gas processing to meet sales specifications (dew point control)

Moderate Recovery Gas Plant Designs – Popular options when high NGL recovery (especially ethane) is not needed and/or not uneconomic.

This session will also be a great preparation for the fourth “Extended Overview Series” module on Expander Plants, Condensate Stabilization, and Fractionation.

A big thank you to Enterprise Products for hosting us!

ABOUT THE SPEAKER

Ralph Neumann, Midstream Process Engineering Consultant

Ralph spent the early part of his career working for several firms in the engineering construction business, both internationally and domestically.  He began as a process engineer specializing in natural gas processing and progressed to engineering management and project engineering roles. The next part of his career was spent working for natural gas processing operating companies where he managed both engineering and operations groups.  Most recently, Ralph has held engineering roles with several private equity-backed startup companies. He served as an instructor for John M. Campbell/PetroSkills, and he now consults in a practice that provides training, project management, and engineering services to the midstream industry.
