SUMMARY:May Training
DESCRIPTION:Save the Date for our May Training Session!\n\n\n\nJoin us at 7:45 a.m. Wednesday\, May 6th\, at Kinder Morgan\, Conference Room 1BCD\, 1001 Louisiana St.\, Houston\, TX 77002. Class registrants are responsible for parking. \n\n\n\nSPEAKER\n\n\n\nJ Anguiano – Chief Technology Officer for Reset Energy \n\n\n\nTRAINING PRICING \n\n\n\n\nIndividual Member: $148.50\n\n\n\nNon-Member: $165\n\n\n\nOwner/Operators that are Corporate Members: $0\n\n\n\n\nBreakfast will be provided. The cost also includes a ticket for the luncheon immediately following the training. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAGENDA\n\n\n\nThe presence of nitrogen (N2) in natural gas feedstocks presents significant technical and economic challenges for the Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) industry. This training examines the multifaceted impact of nitrogen on the LNG value chain\, focusing on process efficiency\, storage safety\, and product quality. Because nitrogen has a lower boiling point than methane\, its presence increases the refrigeration load and specific power consumption of liquefaction trains\, often leading to production bottlenecks. Furthermore\, nitrogen’s high volatility drives the generation of Boil-Off Gas (BOG) during storage and transport\, complicating pressure management and increasing the risk of stratified “rollover” events. We also analyze the dilution of the heating value (calorific value) and the resulting economic penalties in global markets. Finally\, the abstract reviews Nitrogen Rejection Unit (NRU) technologies—such as cryogenic distillation and integrated flash systems—as essential tools for meeting the stringent 1.0 mol% export specification while optimizing methane recovery and plant energy footprints. \n\n\n\nBy the end of the session\, participants will understand: \n\n\n\n\nWhere nitrogen in natural gas comes from\n\n\n\nWhy nitrogen matters in LNG operations\n\n\n\nImpacts on liquefaction efficiency\n\n\n\nStorage and shipping effects\n\n\n\nCommercial and operational consequences\n\n\n\nStrategies\, or options\, for managing nitrogen (NRU placement)\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBECOME A MEMBER OF HGPA TODAY\n\n\n\nBenefits of membership include: \n\n\n\n\nDiscounted training\n\n\n\nAccess to member-only events\n\n\n\n\n\nMEMBERSHIP SIGNUP\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nNOT SURE IF YOUR MEMBERSHIP IS CURRENT?\n\n\n\nAnnual membership in Houston Midstream GPA runs from January 1 to December 31. SUMMARY:May Membership & Scholarship Recipient Luncheon
DESCRIPTION:Join us for our May Membership Luncheon!\n\n\n\nSPEAKERS\n\n\n\nBritt Burt – Senior Vice President of Research-Power Industry for Industrial Info Resources \n\n\n\nJesus Davis – Senior Vice President of Energy Services for Industrial Info Resources \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLUNCHEON TOPIC\n\n\n\nMidstream & Power – When Two Industries Collide \n\n\n\nPRICING\n\n\n\n\nLate Registration – $100\n\n\n\nOwner/Operators that are Corporate Members – $0\n\n\n\nMembers – $75\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nABOUT THE SPEAKERS:\n\n\n\nBritt Burt has been a member of Industrial Info Resources since 1988\, starting his journey as part of the project research team. In 2000\, he was promoted to Vice President of Power Industry Research. In this role\, Britt has played a crucial part in building and leading IIR’s power industry team\, focusing on researching\, identifying\, and validating key information related to power plant assets\, capital and maintenance spending programs\, as well as scheduled and forced offline events within the plants. \n\n\n\nBefore his tenure at Industrial Info Resources\, Britt gained experience in the industrial construction sector\, working with companies such as Brown & Root\, Zachry Construction\, and Bay Offshore Ltd. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nJesus Davis has been with Industrial Information Resources for 21 years and is Industrial Info’s research lead for the Oil & Gas Industry (upstream and midstream)\, a position he has held since 2009. Jesus manages a team of researchers who cover the North American markets and coordinates research with Industrial Info’s regional research teams to cover the global oil and gas markets. In his earlier years with IIR\, Jesus was a researched various industries\, including Industrial Manufacturing\, Metals & Minerals\, Pharmaceuticals\, and Food & Beverage. Jesus studied electrical engineering at The University of Houston. \n\n\n\nABOUT THE PRESENTATION:\n\n\n\nThe electric power industry is experiencing a rapid and complex transformation around the globe and this is certainly true for the United States and Canada. We are seeing the most aggressive growth in electricity than we have seen in well over a decade. There are many drivers behind this rapid growth in electricity demand including the push to develop data centers\, expansion of AI\, electrification and economic growth. Providing enough electricity to supply this demand growth is presenting a number of challenges and opportunities. On the generation side renewables will continue to dominate the overall spend and number of projects but we are seeing a shift towards adding new natural gas fired and nuclear power generation. Coal plants originally scheduled for retirement are delaying decommissioning by many years. Once new generation is built the challenge to deliver to the customer is becoming more challenging due to an inadequate and aging transmission grid. This presentation will focus on project activity scheduled to kick off over the next 3-years including new build\, modernizations\, expansions\, plant modifications and scheduled maintenance activity. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMEMBER REGISTRATION!\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis content is for members only. \n\n\n\nThis content is for members only. \n\n\n\nThis content is for members only. \n\n\n\nThis content is for members only. \n\n\n\nThis content is for members only. \n\n\n\nThis content is for members only.
