Earl has over 32 years of overpressure protection experience and has worked with several manufacturers covering various industries. He began his career as a Production Engineer with Amoco Production Company and joined Anderson Greenwood & Company in 1993 (now Emerson). \n\n\n\nEarl is a native of Baton Rouge\, LA and currently resides in Pearland\, Texas. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Southern University\, Baton Rouge\, LA. Before joining Kodiak in 2023\, Mr. Griggs held CFO roles at Circulus Holdings\, a leading plastics recycling company\, from 2021 to 2023; Conquest Completion Services\, a leading operator of high-capacity coiled tubing units for the oil and gas industry\, from 2018 to 2021; and Rubicon Oilfield International\, an oilfield products manufacturing company\, from 2015 to 2018. From 2011 through 2014\, he was a Managing Director at CSL Capital Management\, an energy private equity firm. From 2005 through 2011\, Mr. Griggs was a Senior Vice President for the direct capital arm of the D. E. Shaw Group\, where he focused on direct debt and equity investments in energy companies. From 2017 to 2021\, he was a Board Member and Chairman of the Audit Committee of Nuverra Environmental Solutions\, Inc. Earlier in his career\, he was an investment banker in the M&A department of Simmons & Company International\, where he covered the oilfield service and midstream sectors. \n\n\n\nMr. Griggs received a Master of Business Administration from the Harvard Business School and a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts from the University of Texas at Austin. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDavid Lee Smith was born in Shreveport\, LA.\, but raised in the greater Houston\, TX.\, area\, and has spent the greatest part of his life giving back to others. Through 30+ year associations with Houston based community organizations such as the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo\, Spindletop International Children’s Charity\, and Cowboys 4 Hero’s\, Lee has become a fixture at active duty military homecomings. \n\n\n\nWorking as a tradesman while putting himself through both San Jacinto College and the University of Houston\, Clear Lake\, a deep passion for serving others took Lee on a winding path. After competing nationally on the BBQ trail\, Lee founded an internet-based smokehouse to offer his unique mix of flavors to those outside of the Texas gulf coast. As a member of the board of directors for the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo\, his contacts through the military community have grown\, where he and his team are known for providing Texas BBQ meals to service members and their families upon return from deployment. \n\n\n\nLee is an avid cook and BBQ pitmaster\, with a love for baseball\, hunting and fishing.
